Cycling related Pop Songs

Thanks to our friends at 'Cycling Active' Feb issue, here's their 7 of the best cycling related songs they could find:

1. John Cale - Bicycle (2003)
Written by experimental pop legend John Cale, this track has not got alot to sing too, but a bike bell does play a lead role.

2. Mark Ronson - The Bike Song (2010)
The video shows Ronson's take on bike power, riding a retro Raleight Streetwolf.

3. Madness- Riding on my Bike (1982)
The B side on the 12" verstion of 'I Like Driving in my Car', this is a tale of the singer peddaling for charity.

4. Queen - Bicycle Race (1978)
Inspired by a stage of the Tour De France, this song is the pop worlds greatest homage to cycling and even features a bike bell solo.  And we all know Freddie Mercury has a certain fondness for getting his leg over the crossbar ...

5. Kraftwerk - Tour De France (1983)
German Techno pioneers, Kraftwerk are known for their love of bikes.

6. Frankie Laine - Rawhide (1958)
More than just a 'rollin, rollin, roillin' tribute to pedal power, Rawhide is a poignant warning to those that dont invest in sufficiently padded knicks or a decent saddle.

7. Judas Priest - Freewheel Burning (1984)
Written after a rapid descent of the Galiber, this song is a rare admission of the bands fondness for all things pedal-powered.

Which is your favourite?
